AIRIUM esim installation and activation

AIRIUM is designed to work reliably in the background, so you can focus on your travels- not on settings. This page explains how to install, activate, and use your AIRIUM eSIM, step by step, and what to expect along the way.
Before You Begin

Before purchasing or installing an AIRIUM eSIM, please make sure that:

  • Your device supports eSIM technology

  • Your device is unlocked

  • You have access to a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi is recommended for installation)

You can install your eSIM before you travel.
Activation happens later, when you arrive at your destination.

Installation vs Activation (Important)

These two steps are different- and understanding the difference makes everything easier.

Installation
  • Happens when you add the eSIM to your phone

  • Can be done anytime, ideally before travel

  • Requires internet access (Wi-Fi recommended)

  • Does not start your plan
Activation
  • Happens automatically when the eSIM first connects to a supported local network in your destination

  • Does not happen at purchase

  • Does not happen during installation

  • Your plan validity starts only at activation

Your plan validity starts only at activation, not before.

How to Install Your AIRIUM eSIM

After purchase, you will receive an email from AIRIUM with your eSIM details. This may include:

  • A QR code

  • An activation code (manual option)

  • Installation instructions

Recommended Installation Method
  • Scan the QR code using your phone’s camera or settings

  • Follow the on-screen prompts

  • For supported devices (including iOS 17.4+), direct installation may be available.

We recommend installing your eSIM before departure, while connected to Wi-Fi.

What to Do After Installation

Once installed:

  • Keep the AIRIUM eSIM installed but turned OFF
  • Do not delete the eSIM
  • Leave your primary SIM active
Activating Your AIRIUM eSIM

When you arrive at your destination:

  1. Turn ON the AIRIUM eSIM line
  2. Turn OFF data roaming on your primary SIM
  3. Enable mobile data for the AIRIUM eSIM
Data Usage and Monitoring

When your eSIM is assigned, you receive access to a secure eSIM management link.

Through this link, you can:

  • View your data usage

  • Check remaining allowance

  • See plan details and validity

This helps you stay informed without guessing.

Unlimited Plans and Fair Use (Quick Reminder)

Unlimited data plans and bundles include a fair-use threshold to ensure reliable performance across shared networks:

  • High-speed data is available for the first 3 GB per day, at speeds of up to 20 Mbps

  • After the daily high-speed allowance is reached, speeds may be reduced to 1 Mbps

  • High-speed data resets every 24 hours

  • Reduced speeds remain suitable for:

    • Messaging

    • Email

    • Navigation

    • General travel coordination

Applies to:
  • AIRIUM Premium (plan)

  • AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate (bundle – Pacific eSIM only)

  • AIRIUM Welcome (bundle)

Limited Data Plans

For AIRIUM plans with a defined data allowance, there is no speed throttling.

  • Full available network speed is provided until the data allowance is used
  • Once the allowance is exhausted or the plan expires, connectivity may pause
Applies to:
  • AIRIUM Transit (plan)

  • AIRIUM Pacific (plan)

  • AIRIUM Neximus Global (plan)

AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate- How the Two eSIMs Work

AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate includes two separate eSIMs, and both can be installed on your device at the same time.

Installation
  • You receive two eSIMs as part of the Neximus Ultimate bundle:

    1. WORLDWIDE Coverage eSIM

    2. PACIFIC Coverage eSIM

  • Both eSIMs should be installed before travel, while connected to Wi-Fi.

  • Installing both eSIMs does not activate them and does not start validity.

Activation and Use
  • Only one eSIM is active at a time, depending on where you are.
  • When you arrive in the Pacific region, you turn on the Pacific eSIM:
    • Unlimited data for 5 days

    • Subject to the unlimited-data fair-use rules

  • When you travel outside the Pacific, you turn on the Global eSIM:

    • Uses its defined data allowance, plus calls and SMS

    • Full available network speed until the allowance is used

You manually switch between the two eSIMs in your phone settings when changing regions.
They do not run simultaneously, and they do not interfere with each other.

Key Points
  • Both eSIMs can and should be installed together
  • Activation happens only when an eSIM is turned on and connects to a supported network
  • Do not delete either eSIM
  • Do not enable data roaming on your primary SIM while using AIRIUM

Tethering and Hotspot Use

Tethering and hotspot functionality may be available depending on:

  • Your device

  • The local network provider

Availability cannot be guaranteed in all destinations or on all devices.

How to Ensure a Better Experience

To ensure a smooth experience:

  • Do not delete the eSIM once installed
  • Do not enable data roaming on your primary SIM while using AIRIUM
  • Confirm device eSIM compatibility before purchase

These small steps prevent most issues.
