What is AIRIUM?

AIRIUM is a digital connectivity service using eSIM technology to keep you connected while you move- across islands, borders, and journeys -without the need for a physical SIM card.

Do I need a physical SIM card?

No. AIRIUM works entirely through eSIM technology. You can keep your physical SIM in your phone if you wish.

However, to start using your AIRIUM plan, please ensure that data roaming on your physical (primary) SIM is turned OFF, and that mobile data is enabled for your AIRIUM eSIM.

Will AIRIUM work on my phone?

AIRIUM requires an unlocked, eSIM-compatible device. Please check your device specifications before purchasing an AIRIUM eSIM package.

Activation and Use
When does my AIRIUM plan start?

Your plan starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported mobile network at your destination.

Installation does not activate your plan.
Activation happens automatically on arrival.

How do I activate my eSIM?

No manual activation is required.

Once installed, your AIRIUM eSIM activates automatically when it connects to a supported local network in your destination.

To ensure proper activation, please turn OFF data roaming on your primary (physical) SIM and enable mobile data for your AIRIUM eSIM.

Can I activate AIRIUM before I travel?

You can install the eSIM in advance, but activation begins only once the eSIM connects to a supported network at your destination.

We recommend installing your eSIM before travel while connected to Wi-Fi.

Can I use AIRIUM in multiple countries?

Yes. AIRIUM eSIM packages are designed to work across supported countries, depending on the plan selected, without needing to change SIMs.

How do I receive my eSIM after purchase?

After purchase, your eSIM is delivered digitally, usually by email, with clear installation instructions and a QR code.

Delivery is fast and designed to work before or shortly after arrival, depending on the package selected.

Packages and Choosing the Right Option
What AIRIUM eSIM packages are available?

Currently, AIRIUM offers six eSIM packages, designed around how people actually travel:

  • AIRIUM Welcome: Complimentary regional connectivity for 3 days, provided to eligible VPC clients (bundle)
  • AIRIUM Transit: Best for short stays and stopovers (1 GB for 7 days) (plan)
  • AIRIUM Pacific: Continuity across islands with 2 GB for 15 days (plan)
  • AIRIUM Premium: Unlimited data within the Pacific region for 7 days (plan)
  • AIRIUM Neximus Global: Global data connectivity for a full international trip (3 GB for 30 days) (plan)
  • AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate: Premium global connectivity, including unlimited data in the Pacific (5 days) and global data, calls, and SMS (15 days) (bundle)
How do I choose the right package?

Consider how long you’re staying and how much you rely on being online.

  • For heavier or continuous use within the Pacific, AIRIUM Premium may be the better choice.

  • For global travel, when not planning to visit Tonga (or don’t need connectivity in Tonga, choose AIRIUM Neximus Global- this is a plan with coverage in 138 countries but with no coverage in Tonga;

  • constant For global travels, when need connectivity and connectivity in Tonga, our AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate may be more suitable.

  • For lighter connectivity needs or shorter stays, AIRIUM Transit or AIRIUM Pacific may be sufficient.
Can I upgrade my plan?

No. AIRIUM packages cannot be upgraded once activated.

If you need more data or a longer period of connectivity, you can purchase a new AIRIUM eSIM package after your current one finishes.

AIRIUM Welcome (VPC Clients)
What is AIRIUM Welcome?

AIRIUM Welcome is a bundle offering unlimited data for 3 days, provided as a courtesy to VPC clients who book a VPC vehicle and purchase insurance online from VPC Very Popular Cars.

It provides regional connectivity within the Pacific (Australia, Fiji, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu).

Who is eligible?

Eligibility applies only to fully paid online vehicle bookings with insurance purchased online.

Can AIRIUM Welcome be extended or transferred?

No. AIRIUM Welcome is time-limited, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for other plans.

However, VPC clients have the option to purchase  AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate bundle at a 10% discount when booking a VPC rental vehicle.

Data, Speed and Fair Use
Can I stream or make video calls?

AIRIUM eSIM packages and plans are designed for everyday connectivity such as:

  • messaging
  • navigation
  • browsing.

Extended streaming or heavy downloads may impact performance.

What does “unlimited data” mean?

Unlimited data for eSIMs means you have continuous access to mobile data without worrying about running out of data during your plan period.

However, AIRIUM Unlimited Data Plans and Bundles include a fair-use threshold to ensure reliable performance across shared networks:

  • High-speed data is available for the first 3 GB per day, at speeds of up to 20 Mbps.
  • After the daily high-speed allowance is reached, speeds may be reduced to 1 Mbps.
  • High-speed data resets every 24 hours. 
  • Reduced speeds remain suitable for messaging, email, navigation, and general coordination.
AIRIUM Unlimited Plans and Bundles are:
  • AIRIUM Premium (plan) – Unlimited data within the Pacific region for 7 days.
  • AIRIUM Neximus Ultimate (bundle) – Unlimited data within the Pacific region for 5 days, with global data, calls, and SMS for 15 days.
  • AIRIUM Welcome (bundle) – Unlimited data within the Pacific region for 3 days.
What happens if I run out of data?
  • For limited data plans, connectivity may pause or slow significantly once the included allowance is used or the plan expires

  • You may purchase another AIRIUM eSIM package if needed

Is hotspot or tethering allowed?

AIRIUM eSIM packages and plans are intended for personal use.

Persistent hotspot use may affect performance and is not recommended.

Payments and Pricing
Why is AIRIUM more expensive than a local SIM?  

AIRIUM is designed for people who prefer reliability, continuity and simplicity.

AIRIUM eSIM is purchased in advance, and it works on arrival, stays with you as you move, and removes the inconvenience that adds up while travelling.

AIRIUM is not about more money; it is about more convenience and comfort.

What currency are prices shown in?

Prices on the AIRIUM website are displayed in Tongan Paʻanga (TOP).

All payments are handled securely through the VPC online payment platform in partnership with a leading local bank.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Pricing is transparent and shown before purchase.

Refunds and Cancellations
Can I get a refund if I don’t use my plan?

Due to the digital nature of eSIMs, activated plans are non-refundable.

What if my phone is not compatible?

It is the user’s responsibility to confirm compatibility before purchase. Refunds are not available for incompatible devices.

My eSIM isn’t working- what should I do?

First, check that your device supports eSIM and that mobile data is enabled on your AIRIUM eSIM.

Also ensure that data roaming is turned OFF on your primary (physical) SIM, as this may prevent the AIRIUM eSIM from connecting correctly.
